MEETING MINUTES
June 9, 2009

Present: Suzz Cromwell, Tom Kennedy, Ted Lavash, Bill Lipchitz,  and Diane Testa.
The meeting opened at 8:35 AM.

Captain Kennedy talked about the rewards program that is trying to educe jaywalking downtown by offering a “ticket” to people who obey the rules that will be a gift certificate to  downtown businesses.

Diane said the Revolving Museum is hosting some women who are doing a documentary film on bellydancing called “Azziza” to raise awareness of the project and to raise money for it. Some of the interviews of practicioners were held at the Athenian Corner.  Other events coming up at the Revolving Museum include a pre-animation workshop for kids with the LTC on Saturday, a members after dark meeting on June 18th, and a reading with kids (ages 3-5) program on Friday, June 19th at 10 AM and on Saturday for ages 8 and up to learn balloon animal creation. A new mural will go up on Merrimack Street next to Enterprise Bank on the 25th.

Suzz reported that Lowell Film Collaborative series starts this week at the LTC Studio A on every other Thursday night through September.

The meeting involving the Revolving Museum, Gallery 119, ALL, CASE/COOL and the Lowell Plan to discuss creating a visual arts center in the downtown area produced some action. The Revolving Museum has received a grant from the Mass Cultural Council to do a feasibility study on the idea They will need to come up with $12,000 as a match.

We will invite Parking Department Head Chuck Kearney to a meeting soon to discuss the pros and cons of the new kiosk system.
