Thumbs up
Congratulations to Bill Lipchitz, who is stepping down as president of the Center City Committee after 33 years at the helm of the downtown advocacy organization.
Lipchitz is considered by many to be one of Lowell's most dedicated citizens, donating countless hours and boundless energy to the community during decades of service.
The Center City Committee has had a lengthy history of dealing primarily with downtown issues on a grass-roots level, thanks in large part to Lipchitz's guidance. It serves as a unifying organization that allows various groups to share information and work on projects collaboratively.
Lipchitz will be missed as president, but fortunately he is not leaving the Center City Committee. He will remain on board as secretary of the group. We applaud his dedication and his enthusiasm.
