LOWELL -- Sponsors are being sought for Art Walk 2008, a program that utilizes vacant and active storefronts by showcasing the work of local artists. The event takes place from July 23 to Sept. 28 in downtown Lowell. Art Walk, now in its second year, is a collaboration of the following: The Arts League of Lowell, City of Lowell, COOL, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau. Involvement opportunities include sponsorship (in segments of $200, $500 and $1,000), donating storefronts that are either vacant or active, or participating as a display artist. Prizes will be awarded to artists this fall, at the conclusion of the event.
